TANYA RICHAM-ODOI


Appearing in: Scandinavia, Lisbon and Milan

Tanya Richam-Odoi trained at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance and won the 1st Year Prize for Outstanding Achievement. As a member of Phoenix Dance Theatre, Tanya toured nationally and internationally, six-week tour of America, Athens International Dance Festival and La Biennale Di Venezia. In 2007, Tanya joined DV8 Physical Theatre o create and perform in Lloyd Newsom's new work, To Be Straight With You.  She has appeared in RODA , 'Dry Toast' (Douglas Thorpe, Leeds), R & D with The White Group (Edinburgh), the film 'Meikyo' by Scottish film-maker Pete Martin.

 In 2008, Tanya was proud to be one of the 4 finalists in the Channel 4Talent Awards, under their Wildcard category. Currently, Tanya teaches in Leeds and around Yorkshire.  Her busy schedule includes Phoenix's Youth Academy, where she has recently choreographed their successful entry piece for Youth Dance England, and also Phoenix's Education programme. She teaches Yorkshire Young Dancers, based at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance, and works in primary schools for Dance Action Zone Leeds, with their Engaging Inactive Children programme.
